Apologies my readers, it has been crazy hot the past few days, and while I had some fun activities and posts planned, I obviously have not gotten around to doing any of them. Hopefully with a thunderstorm tonight the heat will break and then we can get back to our regularly scheduled program.
Until then, here is a video of Mieze and Biene rolling about on the porch after a walk this weekend. It was so hot we had to cut the walk short because they kept laying down in shady patches on other people's lawns. Poor pups! As soon as I opened the front door all they could do was flop about on the floor. They wouldn't even let me take off their leashes! I can't say I blame them, summer is my least favourite season because of the heat, and if rolling around on the ground made me feel better about it I probably would do it too.
If you are wondering where their fabulous collars and leashes are from, I got them on Etsy from the wonderful Pugs 2 Persians. If you have a cat or dog in need of some fancy threads I recommend her wholeheartedly. The quality is excellent, and I would know with my two little beasts talent of beating up everything they come in contact with!

Recipe for a Puppy Spring Surprise Salad
I have been keeping myself more than a little busy with preparing for the Art Star Craft Bazaar this weekend. So in lieu of a blog post from me, my pups have put together a post on their current favourite spring snack. I guess we will just call it the Puppy Spring Surprise Salad. Mostly because I am still surprised that they eat this sort of thing...
You will need:
- A handful of maple tree seeds. (You know, the crunchy helicopter kind)
- A pinch of onion grass (The smellier the better)
- The heads of 3 dandelions (for a garnish of color)
- A cup of clovers (for good luck)
- A smidgeon of regular grass (for texture and nutrients)
Toss all ingredients together until well blended. Season with some dirt to taste and add a few bugs if you are in the mood for a more exotic tasting salad. Serve outdoors in a free range manner. Serves two small pups. Mieze and Biene recommend doubling the recipe if you expect company.
I would complain about their affinity for these things, but I know that as soon as it gets colder again they will just start trying to eat the leaves that fall off the trees. When it snows they will try and eat their weight in snow. To my dogs, the outdoors is like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, everything is edible.

The lovely possibility the first post in a new blog brings!
Why hello there! If you are reading this that means you have somehow stumbled onto my blog. There may not be much here right now, but there are lots of big things planned for my humble little blog! I hope you take the time to come back later and read some more about all that we have been up to.
I own two sweet pups. They are my partners in crime and will probably be making appearances in my blog from time to time. Let me introduce them to you now.

attitude. She looks sweet, but can be cranky. Mieze means "kitty cat" in German. It is a pet name, similar to if someone called you a sweetie or cupcake in english. She likes sleeping on the back of the couch like a cat, so I suppose the name fits. She always looks sad, unless you are giving her cheese, so this is the most cheerful I could get her to look for a photo.

Biene (pronounced bee-na) is also a rat terrier. According to the SPCA (where I adopted them) she and Mieze are sisters. I am inclined to believe them, but they are so different in temperament and body build that sometimes I wonder... Biene means "bee" in German, and is also a pet name. Biene is much more social and is definitely my little buzzy bee. She always has to check in with everyone and see what is going on. She is also always looking happy, so it was easy to get a photo of her looking cute.

Mieze and Biene may not have the most dexterous paws when it comes to making things, but they love to follow me closely and get their noses in whatever I am working with. So as my two little studio helpers I am sure I will be talking about them a lot.

I hope that gives you enough of a peek as to how things will be around here. I am working hard at bringing you some new posts about a variety of crafty topics in the upcoming weeks and I hope you stick around and share your thoughts on them with me!
